Allan Pray

I write my own music and then I record it by myself. First I made an album about the day my older sister Catherine married her boyfriend Eric. Then I wrote one long song divided into 3 parts about a walk I took with my brother and sisters along a trail that my father built by himself in the woods. My third album uses a vast amount of songs to portray a miniature town which my mother built by herself in the attic. Since then I've been working on a few different musical projects such as an album of children's songs, a collection of musical sound sculptures, and a musical dissertation/data study on the various wildlife of the Arctic Tundra.

For live performances of my work I have employed the assistance of several other musicians including my brother and my sister and 8 classical musicians from Cincinnati's CCM (College-Conservatory of Music). In total the ensemble is composed of 11 musicians including 2 cellists, one violist, one violinist, one bassist, 4 guitarists, and two flutists. Everyone in the ensemble sings at times and plays a variety of other instruments including xylophones, bells, recorders, and cymbals.
